Early this month during soccer try outs for the upcoming season, we discovered that E's soccer cleats no longer fit properly. They hurt. I didn't want to buy another pair until soccer started in September because who knows how much her feet will grow before then. But yesterday we ran across a smokin' deal Sport Mart's sidewalk sale and I couldn'tpass it up, especially since she is in a size 5 now and bordering on ladies sizes (and she is only 10yrs old. Her feet are going to be so big!). There were a pair of size 5 cleats marked down to $9.99, yes, $9.99. So I grabbed them. Then we saw a pair of skater shoes we thought she'd probably like marked down to $19.99 but I decided to wait on those. When the associate rang up the cleats they were an extra 20% due to the sidewalk sale. The extra 20% off made me decide to buy the skater shoes for E too. The skater shoes rang up at $14.99 instead of $19.99 plus an extra 20% off. I got a pair of soccer cleats and a pair of skater shoes for $20! Huge score! So check out the sidewalk sale at Sport Mart and see what kind of smoking' deal you can find!
I hope that E likes both pairs and that they fit! One never knows with 10 year old girls...

Time To Purge
First day of summer vacation today. I have been waiting for this day for awhile now. It is nice not to have to be anywhere today. Not that today is going to be a lazy day. It is time to purge the kids bedrooms. We will do it today and get it over with and enjoy the rest of the summer. (Thank you to my friend at the Guiltless Cafe for the idea!) Daughter # 1 has already gone through her dresser and closet to remove clothing she no longer wears. I went through the little one's clothes yesterday. My girls have way too many clothes. Concrete evidence of my shopping habit. An appointment to drop off all of the outgrown fall clothes at the consignment store has already been made. What doesn't go there, will be listed on ebay. (I love to ebay, buying or selling.)
So, my first cup of coffee has been consumed. Off to get washed and dressed and tackle the little one's bedroom. Her bedroom may call for something a tad stronger than coffee!

On The Way To The Potty Guess What I Found?
Have you ever noticed that when one kid in the group has to pee, they all have to pee? I was at a meeting at my daughter's school today with two other moms and the principal. I had my youngest with me and the other moms had their kids with them too, so between us there were 3 girls, ages 3yrs, 4yrs, and 5yrs. One decided she had to go pee and the others all of a sudden just had to go too. On the way to the washroom part of the hallway is a ramp with a handrail. Hanging on the handrail are all the items of lost clothing that have accumulated over the course of the school year. Everything from hoodies to undwear (yes, underwear! who loses underwear?). I knew there were a lot of items in the lost and found. I have repeatedly asked my 10yr old "Have you checked the lost and found? Is anything of yours there?" (She has way too many clothes. I don't always notice if something is missing.) The answer I always get is "Yes, I checked. None of it is mine." Well, guess what? on our journey to the washroom, a familiar hoodie caught my eye. I picked it up and looked at the tag and guess who's name was on the tag? Yup, my 10yr old's name. Written very clearly in black sharpie. Good thing all three girls decided to go pee because Friday it would have left the building!

Did Nanny Swallow Daddy?
A child's mind is a wonderful thing. They say the most fantastic things. Our three year old tries very hard to make sense of things and keep up with what is going on around her. We just spent the weekend in Penticton and on our way home we stopped at the rest stop at the site of the Hope Slide. We got out to stretch our legs so we walked around a little and then read the history of the slide. Megan somehow got it in her head that her Daddy had kicked the rocks and that is what had caused the slide. She asked him why he had kicked the rocks and made the mountain fall down. He tried to explain to her that he hadn't been born yet when the slide happened. It occured in January and he was born in June of the same year. He told her he was in Nanny's tummy and couldn't have kicked the rocks and made the mountain fall down. Now she is trying to figure out why Nanny swallowed Daddy!

Yesterday is Finally Over!
What a day yesterday! I felt like I had ten 3 years olds running around instead of only one. By 2 o'clock, I was ready to curl up in a ball, close my eyes and go to sleep. I was so tired! And more than just physically and mentally tired. I was tired of hearing the sound of my own voice. I don't know what was different about yesterday, my daughter would not listen. Her daddy noticed it too when he got home. Today, hopefully, will be a better day.
On a good note for yesterday, I received an email from someone looking for information on joining my business. Fingers crossed! Check out this link and you can burn and earn too!

Another New Blog For Me
I have made a few attempts at blogging in the past but they always seem to fall by the wayside. I would end up with writers block and stop posting. There is nothing worse than trying to force out an entry. Painful to write and boring to read. So this is my next attempt!
I love to shop. It doesn't matter for what. Clothes (doesn't matter who they are for:), toys, books, groceries. You name it...I'll shop for it. Well, not quite. Tools, car parts, lawn mowers...BORING! I don't even need to purchase something all the time. Just the act of wandering through a store, browsing through the racks...I find extremely relaxing. BUT looking does not provide the same thrill you get from buying. Especially if you find a smoking hot deal.
Saturday nite we had birthday/father's day BBQ at our house. My sister in law was sporting a cute new pair of sandals she had recently bought at Old Navy for $5. Yes, $5-great deal! I went into Old Navy the next day to get a pair of those cute sandals for me. Guess what? They were $2.49! $5-great deal. $2.49 smoking hot deal!
